This year, is the first time I’m not going back somewhere in September. I’m not getting ready for school; trying to make a new routine work; starting a new job; nothing.
I began my real life a few months ago and in a few years September will mean Alaska going back to school. So instead of enjoying my few years without school terms and holidays acting as a guide, I decided to create some outfit ideas for those of you who are going back to school or university or wherever you’re going – hell, you can even wear them to work!
Denim is huge this season so this denim shirt was a must in at least one of these outfits – plus, most people don’t have to shop to wear something similar – it’s most likely already in your closet! As you all probably know by now, I love crazy patterns and the ones on this Alice + Olivia skirt made me drool (well, almost). Another staple part of this outfit is the blazer which is coming back big this season and most of us already own one, woo! Jeffrey Campbell’s Litas have been everyone’s must-have boots since their birth and this turquoise pair is just delicious! The accessories are simple but fabulous and the key necklace reminds me of something Aria Montgomery would wear (if you haven’t seen Pretty Little Liars yet, drop everything and watch it like now!).
The obvious thing that comes with autumn is the wind and weather which is considered bad, but how bad can it really be when you can finally wear a huge furry jacket? Midi skirts are an absolute hit at the minute and I’m in love with the 1950s, poodle-skirt cut right now, ever since I got my first skirt in that style (which you’ll see in the next Shopping Haul like this one). Fringed bags are also huge at the minute and I’m not usually the put-all-trends-into-one-basket kind of girl but this outfit just works, with everything to love about this season included.
About 90% of the time spent at school was always spend moaning about having to be at school instead of being out of it and … I don’t know that’s as far as the moaning always went ha ha. Anyway, for all those chilly casual Fridays spent at the school desk, every girl needs to wrap up in something stylish but comfortable and this cardigan is perfect for that. Wearing another knit under a knitted cardigan will keep you super warm and that grey knitted tank would also work with a simple pair of ripped jeans and some ankle boots. The denim button-up skirt would give the whole outfit some 70s flair and the bag would just top it off. The boots and simple, geometric jewellery makes the whole outfit whole.
